Nurturing Talent, Shaping the Future │ New Milestones in Wing Lee’s Scholarship and Industry-Academia Collaboration

Release Date:2026-03-04

At the beginning of March 2026, as a leading contractor in Hong Kong’s new generation of infrastructure development, Wing Lee has remained steadfast in its commitment to corporate social responsibility and public welfare, supporting the holistic growth of local young talents through concrete actions. In 2024, Mr. Yiu Wang Lee, Chairman of the Group, specially established the “Yiu Wang Lee First-Generation University Student Scholarship” at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. This scholarship is dedicated to students who are the first in their families to pursue undergraduate degrees, encouraging them to dream boldly, pursue breakthroughs, and embark on their life journey through knowledge, making the most of higher education opportunities, maximizing their potential, and giving back to society.

During the 2025/26 academic year, the scholarship will provide financial support to a total of 6 outstanding students from the university. Recently, the Vice President of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong led three scholarship recipients on a visit to the Wing Lee headquarters, updating Mr. Yiu on their campus life and academic progress, and expressing the collective gratitude of the faculty and students towards the Group and Mr. Yiu.

Mr. Yiu highly commended the students’ growth and efforts, and also expressed his appreciation for the university’s dedication to nurturing talent. He encouraged the scholarship awardees to set clear personal goals and develop into individuals who can contribute to the country and society. He further emphasized the importance of cultivating innovative thinking, proactively engaging with fields such as artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, and actively participating in emerging industries including green, low-carbon, and sustainable development. During the conversation, Mr. Yiu also introduced the Group’s new energy transformation strategy and key initiatives such as the “Zero Carbon Smart Alliance”, encouraging students to embrace the opportunities brought by industrial transformation, put knowledge into practice, and expand their horizons for the future.

At the same time, Wing Lee has been actively forging connections between industry and academia to promote industry awareness and early career orientation. This month, in collaboration with Buddhist Tai Kwong Chi Hong College and the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors’ Association (HKECA), the Group organized a “Zero Carbon Smart Space” campus visit and exchange, allowing more than thirty secondary students and industry representatives to experience first-hand cutting-edge technologies in smart construction, electric equipment, and 5G remote applications. Through on-site guidance from industry mentors and diverse demonstrations, students not only gained insight into the latest developments in engineering, but also broadened their career perspectives, establishing directions for their future academic and personal development.

Looking ahead, Wing Lee will continue to place innovation and education at the core of its efforts, further advancing philanthropic scholarships and industry-academia cooperation. Together with educational and industry partners, we are committed to nurturing more outstanding talents for the next generation, jointly driving the green transformation of the construction industry, and contributing to Hong Kong’s vision of becoming an international innovation and technology hub as well as a sustainable city.
